VICKI HAUG MEMORIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

The Upper Makefield Township Board of Supervisors reports with great sadness the passing of a most devoted employee, Vicki Haug. She suffered a brain aneurysm March 9, 2008.

Starting as a part time secretary and receptionist 11 years ago, Vicki quickly became an indispensable assistant to the township manager and all of the township supervisors. She was adept at dealing with the public and sensitive issues, winning countless friends along the way. She was very conscientious about learning new skills, growing with the demands of the growing township, from computer systems to website and cable broadcast information. She always stepped up in times of emergency, to help communicate with the residents at risk and follow up with coordinating assistance to those in need after floods. She got to know all the residents who volunteered on committees, often by helping the committees organize their meetings and taking meeting minutes. She was invaluable to the many township supervisors who came and went over the years, cheerfully delivering paperwork and managing special projects. She kept her sense of humor as she became the institutional memory of the township administration through the turnover of two township managers and the current search for a new manager. She was extremely thoughtful, a wonderful friend, a fine citizen, an outstanding mother, wife and daughter - words cannot express how much she will be missed.
